Creating a hen party karaoke playlist is like a sentimental journey back in time. You want to include songs that make women rolling on the floor laughing, songs women listen to when they want to feel like a powerful single woman in total control of their lonely life (the ”boost” songs we mean), as well as songs that make women long for someone to love. If you have any songs that are connected to some good old memories, make sure you absolutely include them.
We do not want anyone to get too sentimental though, as it is about having fun and not crying over days lost and what happened ten years ago. Choose songs girls love to keep the party going! With karaoke – especially hen party karaoke – it does not matter if you choose the world’s best songs. Forget about the Grammy awards and instead choose the songs that make the girls complain about stomach ache ”because we are laughing so much”!
Tunes from the 70s
You might be of the age that you have not even experienced the 70’s but that does not mean we should leave it out from the playlist. Because there are songs like ”Abba – Dancing Queen”, ”Don McClean – American Pie”, ”Bee Gees – How Deep Is Your Love”, ”Elton John & Kiki Dee – Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”. ”John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John – You’re The One That I Want”, ”Donna Summer – Bad Girls”, ”Donna Summer – Hot Stuff”, ”Gloria Gaynor – I Will Survive” and ”Carly Simon – You’re So Vain”.
Tunes from the 80s
From the 80’s the one tune you must have is ”Cindy Lauper – Girls Just Want To Have Fun”. If you have that you do not need a lot more – we mean that song already says it all – but you might want to have a look at songs like ”Madonna – Like A Virgin”, ”Wham! – Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”, ”Bananarama – Cruel Summer”, ”Janet Jackson – Nasty”, ”Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart ”, ”Joan Jett & The Blackhearts – I Love Rock N’ Roll”, ”Human League – Don’t You Want Me”, ”Rick Astley – Never Gonna Give You Up”, ”Tina Turner – Simply The Best” and last but not least a girl power version of ”David Bowie – Let’s Dance”.
Tunes from the 90s
From the 90’s we think artists like Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys (women sing their songs just as good as the boys, that is guaranteed), Westlife, Vengaboys, Aqua, Britney Spears, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, The Cardigans, Mariah Carey, Alanis Morissette and Michael Jackson all deserve at least one song in the hen party karaoke playlist. On top of that choose some legendary songs we remember from MTV – like ”Sixpence None The Richer – Kiss Me”, ”Texas – Say What You Want”, ”Hanson – MMMBop”, ”Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply”, ”MC Hammer – U Can’t Touch This”, ”Ace of Base – All That She Wants”, ”Jennifer Lopez – Waiting For Tonight”, ”Whitney Houston – I’m Every Woman” and ”Right Said Fred – I’m Too Sexy”.
The 21st century is luckily already full of good songs to choose from, so if three decades of good music is not enough, then continue your search here. But for some reason we never seem to get tired of the old legends!
